Babalwa Nqoro was born at Ndevana Location in King William’s Town.
She did her primary years at Rayi Primary School and matriculated at Forbes Grant High school in Ginsberg.
She went to Fort Hare University, graduating with a BA degree majoring in isiXhosa, English and Psychology.
She continued her studies by doing the PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) at Fort Hare University.
She also did isiXhosa Honours at Nelson Mandela University in Port Elizabeth.
She worked as a temporary teacher in Alexandria at Ukhanyo High School. She is now working at Mfesane High School in Motherwell, Port Elizabeth.
